What do we do in JSA?
In JSA, we focus on having meaningful discussions on different political issues and fighting apathy. JSA is a platform for all high school students to have a equal opportunity at expressing their opinions and views on topics. As a chapter, we typically attend Fall and Spring State, host our own chapter convention, and participate in a number of different rallies/activism projects throughout the year.

'Fall/Spring State'?
One of the biggest events held in JSA are state conventions. As a chapter, we attend 2 state conventions every year (Fall and Spring State), where we discuss political topics and issues with students from all over Texas.
Below are recap videos from Fall State 2019, which can also be found on the Texas JSA YouTube channel.
How do JSA debates work?
How do JSA debates work?
The typical JSA debate format consists of 2 opposing sides (Pro and Con), with 2 main speakers, subsequent speakers, as well as time for questioning.
The main speakers are pre-chosen while subsequent speakers are selected in the round, giving audience members a chance to express their opinion on a particular topic.
